FAQs
What age groups does Roots and Flight Academy serve?
We offer programs for students from preschool through age 12 currently, with plans to expand offerings in the spring!
Are your classes live or recorded?
We currently use a hybrid model of self-paced, pre-recorded classes with live check-ins week 1, week 4, and week 8. Live courses are held via Zoom with interactive, engaging lessons taught by a licensed teacher. Recorded classes are available through the self-contained membership area.
What supplies will we need at home?
Basic schools supplies will be enough for our classes. For students enrolled in Mindful Me, you might consider purchasing a yoga mat, but it is not a requirement. Students should also have access to a laptop or desktop computer.
What is the time commitment each week?
Each recorded class is 30-45 minutes per week. Most work will be done during class time, however there are some instances where students should work on projects between classes, such as in the Dream & Build course. Live class check-ins week 1, week 4, and week 8 will be 60 minutes and there will be a poll the first week of class to determine the best times for these so most students are able to attend.
Do I need to be on screen with my child?
Nope! With the exception of our Mommy & Me style preschool class for 18 months - 2.5 year olds, classes are designed for independent participation. We do encourage parents of younger children (2.5 - 6) to stay nearby for the first few sessions to support if needed.
What if we miss a class?
If you miss a live, check-in class, you will have access to the recording for that class, so no worries! Our classes are designed to be flexible and fit the needs of all our families.
